I was born in Harrisonburg, Va, 1982; or, to revive an old running joke: Boomtime, Bureaucracy 73, 3148 YOLD. I graduated Highschool in 2000 from Spotswood High, and then from JMU in 2004 with a BS in Computer Science.
But none of this matters, really; what matters are the things I've done with my life. Which, strangely enough, is basically nothing. I've had four jobs that weren't for family members. I worked at Virginia Internet Express after taking over the position from my friend Eddy in early 1999. Previously, in 1998, Windows 98 had taken a dive and trashed my nice new FAT32 filesystem and I had made the once-and-forall switch to Linux, and have been there ever since. Vaix ran 100% Linux for the duration of my employment there. After 2000, I was also the UNIX Administrator for the JMU CS Department.
The summer before my senior year, I was booted from Vaix rather uncermoniously in a political decision, and took up employment with Gary Cupp at HelpNet in Harrisonburg. Gary and his wife proved to be two of the nicest people I've ever known in my life. After a ton of soul-searching, I left HelpNet and moved to FreshAir Communications, a division of WildWires LLC. WildWires has now been disbanded and reformed with another company to form Digerati. Horrible name...well...just horrible name. I'm now searching for The Perfect Job while Tier 1 end-user support eats away at my humanity. For info, pop the Resume link.
I am compiling a collection of my more memorable experiences at my various jobs (mostly Vaix) because I doubt many people would believe them. Then, hopefully, I can coerce people into paying me $5 via Paypal to download it. Or accept donations. Whatever. I think (and hope) it should be filled with $5 worth of laughs. We'll see!
I am a technologist in the purest sense; nothing cannot be fixed with the proper application of hard work, technology, and brilliance. It's just shameful that I'm lazy and stupid, or I could rule the world. My personal interests including eradicating the world of the Microsoft server platform, fishing and shooting, political debates (I'm a strong conservative), reading, and talking on AIM.
Additionally, I have a penchant for history, Sci-Fi television (good or bad), kung-fu movies (bad or worse) and playing with new things (like this web page).

Update! August 15, 2006: No, Ross is not single. Stop asking. This is my site.
